Soulbound: Online — Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we see most about release, price, and how the game plays.
When does Soulbound: Online launch?
Soulbound: Online enters Steam Early Access on July 21, 2026.
Who is developing Soulbound: Online?
SpiderWare, an independent studio based in London, UK, founded in 2021.
Is Soulbound: Online free to play?
Not officially confirmed either way. Steam's feature tags for the game include "In-App Purchases," and no price has appeared on the store page as of this writing, which points toward a free-to-play-with-shop model — but SpiderWare hasn't explicitly stated its monetization plan. A free demo has also been available via Steam ahead of launch.
What platforms is it on?
PC via Steam at Early Access launch. SpiderWare has said Mac and iOS support are planned to follow, along with full controller support.
Does Soulbound: Online have classes?
No fixed classes — the game is classless. You change role by swapping gear, drawing on 10+ ability types and 100+ (some sources say 200+) relic paths across multiple weapon archetypes.
How many players can do a dungeon together?
Standard dungeons scale for solo play or up to three-player co-op. Larger raid encounters support 5+ players — SpiderWare has said one raid is available now, with more planned.
Will there be an auction house?
Yes, but SpiderWare has confirmed it will not be available at Early Access launch.
Will there be guilds?
Yes, guilds are planned, but like the auction house, not confirmed for day one of Early Access.
Is there PvP?
SpiderWare has said PvP is "being looked into" based on community interest, not confirmed as a launch feature.
How long will Early Access last?
SpiderWare has said they expect Early Access to run roughly 12 to 18 months, though this isn't fixed.
Was Soulbound previously a blockchain game?
Yes — it was originally announced under the name Worldwide Webb with blockchain elements, before SpiderWare dropped that direction in favor of releasing it as a standard game.
Does Soulbound: Online have crossplay?
Yes — Steam's store page lists "Cross-Platform Multiplayer" among the game's features. Full details on which platforms are covered haven't been spelled out yet, especially since Mac and iOS versions are still planned rather than available at launch.
Can you play Soulbound: Online solo?
Yes. Dungeons scale for solo play as well as up to 3-player co-op, and the overworld doesn't require a party to explore, gather, or quest. See our Solo Build Guide for a solo-focused approach.
How long is Soulbound: Online?
As a live-service MMO with planned nine progression tiers (four available at Early Access launch) and ongoing content updates over a 12–18 month Early Access period, there's no fixed "completion" length — playtime depends on how deep into progression, crafting, and dungeon tiers you go.
Does Soulbound: Online support a controller?
Full controller support has been confirmed as coming, per SpiderWare's developer Q&A, though it wasn't listed as available in the earliest demo builds.
What are the best PC settings for Soulbound: Online?
SpiderWare hasn't published a settings/optimization breakdown yet, but official minimum and recommended system requirements are now listed on Steam — see our System Requirements page. We'll add a settings guide once Early Access is out and performance can be tested properly.
Does Soulbound: Online have voice acting?
Not confirmed as of this writing. Steam's language table lists English for interface and subtitles but not full audio. Separately, SpiderWare appears to be running open casting calls for character voices, suggesting voice acting may be added later rather than being ready at Early Access launch.
Can you respec your character in Soulbound: Online?
Yes. Since builds are entirely gear-based, you can respec instantly to a different role by changing equipment — there's no cooldown or permanent commitment described for switching between tank, DPS, support, or hybrid setups.
Is Soulbound: Online on Steam Deck?
Partially. Valve's own compatibility testing rates it "Playable" on Steam Deck (as of a mid-July 2026 test), meaning it runs and performs well by default, though some controller and text-size quirks require workarounds. SpiderWare has said full ("Verified") Steam Deck support is still a future goal rather than a day-one guarantee.
Does Soulbound: Online have traditional character levels?
Not in the usual sense. Rather than earning general EXP to level up a character, progression comes from your average gear level, individual skill EXP (each skill levels separately), and permanent upgrades. See our Leveling Guide for details.
