How to build around evasion instead of raw health or armor as your defensive style.

What a Dodge Build Is Doing
Dodge is a distinct defensive archetype alongside Tank — instead of stacking Health and Defense to absorb hits, a Dodge build prioritizes avoiding hits entirely, then layers on damage since you're not spending stat budget on raw survivability.
What to Prioritize
- Dodge, Damage, and Crit are the reported priority stats for this archetype — unlike Tank, a Dodge build still contributes solid damage output
- Positioning and timing matter more than for Tank, since a missed dodge window has less of a health buffer to fall back on
- Watch for unavoidable mechanics — some dungeon hazards (certain ground effects, for example) reportedly can't be dodged regardless of your Dodge stat, so don't treat it as complete immunity

Dodge vs. Tank
Community-reported stat caps put Defense (Tank's main stat) at a lower ceiling than Dodge, which is one reason some players lean toward Dodge over Tank for solo and small-group survivability. That said, this is pre-launch community meta commentary rather than something SpiderWare has officially stated, and it may shift once Early Access is live and balance patches start landing.
Framing note: Soulbound: Online is classless — there's no locked-in "class" to pick. Everything below is about what gear, abilities, and relics to prioritize to lean into this role; you can switch out of it anytime by changing gear. Specific ability and relic names aren't public yet, so this guide focuses on strategy rather than a fixed loadout — we'll add exact picks once Early Access is out on July 21, 2026.
